Why should I write
The consultation on the Draft Local Plan closed in March 2023. Following this, the Plan was “paused” to allow new Government guidance to be taken into consideration.
The Plan was “unpaused” and work on it recommenced in October 2023.
Since then NO information has been forthcoming from the Council as to whether the Plan has been altered to take into account your comments and objections OR recent Government guidance.
The Council states on its website that there will be another opportunity to comment on the Plan in January 2025. We think that this will be too late! Work has already started on a Transport Assessment by Surrey County Council, presumably on the Draft Local Plan as issued for consultation in 2023. The Council is continuing with the Local Plan process regardless of all our concerns.
It is vital that we continue to voice our objections to the outdated and discredited proposals to build on the Green Belt.
PLEASE write to the Council to reiterate your objections. It is very important that you write your own letter, as multiple copies of the same letter are not counted as separate objections.
If you need information and suggestions as to what issues you can raise, look at our SUGGESTED OBJECTIONS page.
Send your letters to your local Councillor, their contact details can be found here: https://democracy.epsom-ewell.gov.uk/mgMemberIndex.aspx?bcr=1 - and to the Planners; by email to: localplan@epsom-ewell.gov.uk or by post to: Planning Policy, The Old Town Hall, The Parade, Epsom KT18 5BY.
